Ennead

Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-05-27

The short version

Ennead collects nothing. There is no account. There is no server. Your test results live on your phone and nowhere else. We do not see them, do not store them, and could not share them even if we wanted to.

What we collect

Nothing.

Ennead does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data, analytics, usage data, crash reports, identifiers, or any other information about you or your use of the app. The app does not contact our servers, because the app does not have servers.

Where your data lives

Your test answers, results, retake history, and any preferences are stored exclusively in the local storage of the app on your device. They do not leave your device. If you uninstall the app, that data is removed with it. If you reinstall the app, your previous results will not be available unless you have used Apple's iCloud backup mechanism, which is handled by Apple and not by us.

What we do not do

The friend-compare feature

Ennead includes an optional feature for comparing your type with a friend's. This works by generating a short code on your device that you can share with another person through any channel you choose (text message, email, in person). Decoding that code happens entirely on the receiving device. No data flows through our servers; we do not see who you compare with or what you compare.

In-app purchase

Ennead is a single one-time purchase on the App Store and Google Play. Apple and Google handle the payment transaction; we never see your payment information. Apple shares anonymized purchase confirmation with the app so it can unlock the full experience for you. That confirmation is verified locally on your device using Apple's StoreKit framework and is not transmitted to us.

Children

Ennead is rated 4+ on the App Store and is not directed specifically at children. Because we collect no data, the privacy implications for users of any age are the same: nothing leaves your device.

Not a medical or clinical tool

The Enneagram is a framework for thinking about motivational patterns. It is not a diagnostic instrument, a psychological assessment, or a substitute for professional support. Ennead's results are for reflection and self-exploration only. If you are struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional in your area.

Changes to this policy

If we ever materially change how the app handles data (for example, if a future version added optional cloud sync), we will update this page and the effective date above. The current architecture is designed to make most changes structurally impossible — there is nowhere for your data to go because the app has no backend.
